Queen Creek
Queen Creek is a medium-sized town located in the state of Arizona. With a population of 50,890 people and nine constituent neighborhoods, Queen Creek is the 30th largest community in Arizona. Queen Creek has seen a significant amount of newer housing growth in recent years. Quite often, new home construction is the result of new residents moving in who are middle class or wealthier, attracted by jobs, a healthy local economy, or other amenities as they leave nearby or far away areas for greener pastures. This seems to be the case in Queen Creek, where the median household income is $105,729.00.
Queen Creek home prices are not only among the most expensive in Arizona but Queen Creek real estate also consistently ranks among the most expensive in America.
Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Queen Creek is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Queen Creek is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Queen Creek who work in management occupations (15.62%), office and administrative support (11.59%), and sales jobs (11.59%).
Also of interest is that Queen Creek has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes: 11.19% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Because of many things, Queen Creek is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of homeownership in predominantly single-family properties, Queen Creek really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Queen Creek perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic nightlife, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.
One downside of living in Queen Creek, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 33.15 minutes every day commuting to work.
The population of Queen Creek is very well educated relative to most cities and towns in the nation, where the average community has 21.84% of its adult population holding a 4-year degree or higher: 38.24% of adults in Queen Creek have a bachelor’s degree or even advanced degree.
The per capita income in Queen Creek in 2018 was $37,125, which is wealthy relative to Arizona, and upper middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $148,500 for a family of four.
Queen Creek is a very ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Queen Creek home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Queen Creek residents report their race to be White, followed by Asian. Queen Creek also has a sizable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 15.78% of the townās residents. Important ancestries of people in Queen Creek include German, English, Irish, Italian, and European.
